The Ollie Oath
Our commitment to the health of dogs and the planet they live on.

Sustainability
We hold ourselves accountable for the impact our products and industry have on the planet. We’re proud to be members of the Pet Sustainability Coalition and active members of cross-industry sustainability working groups and discussions. Our sustainability work focuses on three main areas: responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction.

Sourcing
Responsible sourcing means procuring ingredients, packaging, and other materials that cause the least harm possible to the environment.
Ollie’s largest impact — both the positive impact on dog health and the negative environmental footprint — comes from the ingredients in our recipes, because growing and processing food and raw ingredients typically require the most fuel and energy, and release the most greenhouse gases (GHG) (as compared to storing and shipping).
In 2024, we launched our first certified sustainable protein: our MSC-certified and wild-caught Salmon and Coconut Jerky Strips.
In 2025, we established an impact-focused evaluation process for ingredient sourcing. As part of this approach, we prioritize ingredients that are:
Responsibly sourced using regenerative or sustainable practices
Screened for potential environmental and processing contaminants
Not contributing to deforestation

Waste Reduction and Proper Recycling
Reducing
In 2025, we conducted our first comprehensive materials audit to understand everything that we buy, use, and ship, so that we can set a progressive plan to reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover materials.
Recycling
We disclose the exact material types on our packaging and website, along with specific instructions on how to dispose of them after use. This transparency is part of a concerted effort to reduce confusion and "wishcycling.”

Greenhouse Gas Reduction
In 2024, Ollie conducted a comprehensive GHG assessment, which included Scope 1-3 emissions. We found that the majority of our footprint is attributed to our ingredients. We’re committed to conducting an annual greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, which will enable us to set GHG reduction goals over time.
Some ingredients inherently have a higher GHG footprint than others. For example, beef will always have more emissions than sweet potatoes. But for all ingredients, there are growing practices that can reduce the negative impacts. Ollie will be focusing on those as a method for our GHG reduction.
One early win:
Ollie uses upcycled sweet potato granules, which compared to “conventional” sweet potatoes results in a reduction of 164,006 kg CO2e, which is equivalent to a .8% reduction in Ollie’s GHG emissions. That’s equivalent to 38 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles driven for one year.

Responsibility
We believe dogs deserve the same quality of food we’ve come to expect for ourselves. That’s why we only use human-grade ingredients, sourced from suppliers who are held to stricter safety and quality standards than traditional pet food manufacturers.

Clean and Mindful Nutrition
Clean Protocol
We go above and beyond regulatory requirements by implementing our own Clean Protocol.
Ollie has rigorous supplier onboarding and requirements for documentation, and we conduct our own independent testing when necessary.
We ask that every ingredient supplier test for mycotoxins, heavy metals, and specific synthetic chemicals, such as pesticides or herbicides.
We prohibit vendors from intentionally using the most problematic types of plastic and other compounds, including phthalates, PFAS, PVC, and bisphenols.
Mindful Nutrition
We strive to craft the healthiest, cleanest nutrition for our dogs, with the smallest possible environmental footprint. This means not using more resources than necessary and keeping our recipes simple and straightforward:
Our cooking processes keep food fresh and nutrients accessible.
We only use whole foods and essential vitamins and minerals – zero fillers, preservatives, colorants, or unnecessary extras.
We formulate each recipe with the right amount of protein to support optimal health. We’re cautious not to use more than necessary, because excess protein isn’t beneficial to dogs and only contributes to environmental waste.

Pawsitive Action
Pawsitive Action stands up for the underdogs, giving them a fighting chance at long, healthy, and happy lives. We also support human communities and environmental initiatives aligned with our values by providing resources to nonprofit organizations across the country.
